05.10.2017 Personal exhibition "Soundless music" of an artist, teacher, professor Tokkozha Kozhagulov.

Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 5 October 2017 at 16.00 opens a personal exhibition "Soundless music" of an artist, teacher, professor Tokkozha Kozhagulov.

The exhibition is devoted to the 90th anniversary of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai.

"Soundless music" of Tokkozha Kozhagulov (click fo increasing)Kozhagulov Tokkozha Mukazhanovich graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute named after Abai, specializing in drawing (1984). He began his career at the Zhambul Pedagogical Institute (1984-1987) as a lecturer at the Department of General Technical Disciplines and Labor Training. Since 1987, he worked in the KazNPU after Abai in various positions, at present he is the head of the painting department (since 2008).

T. Kozhagulov is one of the most active artists of modern Kazakhstani art space, who came to the fine arts in the mid-1980s. Kozhagulov began his creative activity of portraits, which is considered one of the most difficult genres in the visual arts. Creating a portrait is a very difficult creative act, influenced by many factors. He tries to discover the versatility of human nature, emphasizes individuality, and shows the spiritual wealth and intellectual life of the individual. Before starting any work, the artist is works on documentary materials, studying archival photographs and transferring his design to canvas. Thus, synthesizing the collected material and the impressions that arose in the process of studying allowed the artist to create a peculiar character of personality. Therefore in every portrait of the master there is a piece of his soul, his personal attitude to man. In his creative gallery there are portraits of the great representatives of the Kazakh people - Abai, Dzhambul, M.Auezov, M.Makataev, and others.

Kozhagulov is known to the general public mainly as a portraitist. Along with portraits, he managed to depict the beauty of nature of Kazakhstan. A series of landscape paintings of the artist is devoted to the depiction of the picturesque places of native Khan-Tengri. In the work of the master an important place is occupied by thematic pictures filled with philosophical meaning. Among them "Loneliness", "Silence", "Cry of the soul. 1937 "and others.  

T. Kozhagulov is a regular participant of regional, republican, all-Union and international exhibitions, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, a laureate of the International Dzhambul Prize, laureate of the M. Makatayev Prize. His works are in museums and private collections in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the USA, Turkey, Germany, Japan and the Baltic States.

The exhibition presents more than 50 works of the author.

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, being one of the leading cultural and educational institutions of the country, continues to acquaint the Almaty people with the history and modern development of the fine arts of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition will last until 16 October, 2017.
