M. Kantarbayev – artist of landscape genre, paints with watercolors and oil colors, enjoys hot batik, wood carving. Nothing inspires an artist to creativity like wildlife. Therefore, like all painters, Maksat works in the open-airs, using every opportunity to find himself in nature, where he develops his painting skills. The artist is in constant search, does not stop at what has been accomplished – hence the new motives and their embodiment in new creative works. He creates a holistic, organic, multi-colored world that fills with household items, flowers, trees, fruits, always perfect in their forms. When creating his paintings, the author pays great attention to color, which clearly characterizes his particular style, unique handwriting and his manner. The bright and rich palette of his canvases fascinates, stops and attracts the viewer's gaze for a long time with a unique color variety. In all his works there is always a sincere love for life with all its fullness and diversity, passion for the topic, expression of his inner world and time, as well as joy and delight from the contemplation of the richness of nature. So, the author's works are interesting, reflecting the nature of Kazakhstan and the views of Almaty: the mountain panorama of Ushkonyr, the Turgen gorge, the Charyn canyons, “Alatau”, “Kulan”, “Turgen”, residential complex “Nurly tau”, triptych “Khan Tengri” , "Forest House", "Baum Grove".
