The birthday of the state television broadcasting is commonly believed to be on March 8, 1958, when the first trial broadcast of the Alma-Ata television studio went on the air. This was earth-shattering news in the history of the country. On March 16, systematic broadcasting began, and it was precisely established that the broadcast of the first transmission was caught by 4100 receivers.

Since December, five-hour broadcasts have been broadcast daily. During the first year of the studio's operation, more than 300 original programs were created, almost 500 films and magazines were aired.

Television contests came up in the 1970s and talk shows in the 1980s. Over the years, the channel has undergone many changes. The first cassette heavy cameras and wired microphones were replaced by digital television with multifaceted technical capabilities. Gradually, regional TV studios began their work and provided the local population with high-quality information. Since September 2011, the national channel has started broadcasting entirely in Kazakh.

For the first time, digital terrestrial television, providing the broadcast of TV channels in the digital format DVB-T2 MPEG-4, was launched on July 3, 2012. Today, the channel, equipped with modern technology, moved to the Kazmedia center in 2012. More than 40 projects based on the development of the state language are news and programs of various genres for viewers of different ages from studios in Almaty and Astana. The largest media structure in the country has 4 republican, 15 regional, 4 radio stations and more than 20 Internet portals. The TV channel, which has completely switched to HD format, can be watched online from different parts of the world.

At the end of the event, the guests visited the exhibition "65 years of Kazakh television: a history in film".
