30.11.2018 Traditional Central Asian craft fair "Art-Eastern Bazaar"

On November 30 - December 1-2, 2018 The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Center for Decorative and Applied Art "Bakhyt", hold the traditional Central Asian craft fair "Art-Eastern Bazaar", which will be attended by over 150 craftsmen from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Russia.

On the eve of New Year's holidays, a wide range of exclusive authoring works of gift and souvenir products will be presented to visitors' attention: national and branded clothing, jewelry made of silver, nickel silver, gilding and enamel, musical instruments, oriental miniature, souvenirs from natural materials, amber jewelry, beads, ceramic, felt and silk products, paintings on canvas, bark, forged decorative items, handmade soap, Christmas toys and many other interesting items by.

During the last 16 years, masters of decorative and applied art of the Central Asian region, meeting at the exhibition-fair within the walls of the Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, demonstrate their creative abilities, exchange experience, expand the circle of mutually beneficial partnerships, and share with each other , are selling their products.

As part of the exhibition, an indicative master-class on pottery from the famous ceramist of Kazakhstan Aliaskar Musayev will be organized for visitors to the museum, and students of the Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Art named after O. Tansykbaev will hold their first master class in felt and batik.

03.11.2018 FESTIVAL "THE DAY OF CULTURE OF JAPAN"

 On 3 November, 2018 from 14.00 to 18.00 the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan-Japan Center for Human Resource Development, Narhoz University, the Association of Japanese Businessmen in Kazakhstan, the Association of Japanese in Kazakhstan, the Terracaya Organization and the Kazakhstan-Japan Silk Road Association a traditional FESTIVAL "THE DAY OF CULTURE OF JAPAN" is will be held.   

The Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been actively cooperating with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan for more than 10 years, together with which cultural and educational projects are carried out annually.

The purpose of the festival "Day of Culture of Japan" is to strengthen cultural cooperation, develop ties and deepen mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Japan, as well as acquaint residents and guests of Almaty with traditions and customs, with modern innovative and intellectual achievements of the Land of the Rising Sun.  

Japan is an amazing and mysterious country of the East, where ancient temples and beautiful gardens, snowy mountain peaks and skyscrapers, future technologies and centuries-old traditions are combined.

At the festival, visitors will be able to get acquainted not only with cultural traditions and modern forms of art, writing, music, dancing, cuisine, but also with the products of Japanese companies.
The program of the event includes: the performance of the Ooedodayko drummers' group, the Japanese dances Yosakoy Soran, the animated computer games Cosplay, and the Japanese drafts (“drafts of go”); dressing Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing); workshops on various types of art and handicrafts: manga art style (classical techniques of drawing Japanese comics), Sumium art (drawing with ink and paints on rice paper), origami and furoshiki (an ancient technique of wrapping gifts from fabric) and isatagami (Japanese craft of making paper stencils for dyeing textiles), ikebana art (traditional Japanese art of arranging), etc. Festival visitors will also get acquainted with Japanese Samurai dolls, learn to write hieroglyphs at master classes on calligraphy, properly pour tea at a Japanese tea ceremony and prepare traditional Japanese dishes (takoyaki, mochi-tsuki).

The event will be attended by Japanese companies – Sony, Daio Seishi, the Kazakhstan-Japan Silk Road Association, the organization of Terracaya and others, as well as a presentation of two cars of the Japanese brand Toyota tsusho Kazakhstan Auto – Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus ES (Toyota Center Zhetisu), Lexus Center Almaty).

The Day of Japanese Culture in Almaty will be opened by the Director of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Nursan Alimbay and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan Mr. Ichiro Kawabata, the rector of the University of Narhoz – Andrew Wakhtel.

29.09.2018 THE FESTIVAL "All Family in the Museum!", timed to the "Family Day" holiday.

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of ABDI Company, on September 29, 2018, from 11.00 to 17.00, conducts the FESTIVAL "All Family in the Museum!", timed to the "Family Day" holiday.

The main goal of the annual traditional festival "All Family in the Museum!" is the preservation of family, cultural values, traditions, spirituality, as well as the upbringing of the younger generation and the strengthening of the family institution.

THE FESTIVAL "All Family in the Museum!"The cultural and educational program of the museum holiday consists of quests for exposition halls, quizzes, competitions, master classes, thematic classes and excursions that allow you to get acquainted with the history and culture of the country and create a lively dialogue between museum specialists, museum items and visitors. Children's clubs, academies of creativity, educational training centers, art studios, artists, masters of arts and crafts, creative and musical groups will take an active part in the festival "All Family in the Museum!"

The concert program of the Festival will be opened by the famous not only in Kazakhstan but also beyond its borders - "Concert Orchestra of the Akim of Almaty" under the control of People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Composers of the Kazakh SSR and USSR Murat Serkebayev who will perform popular classical works, elegant melodies, excerpts from operas and ballets, as well as folk melodies, works of Kazakh composers – Kurmangazy, Zhaiau Musa, etc. Also in the concert will take part: the popular ensemble of the Daribaevs family, ethnical collective «TRIBAL PRO» (artistic director Helen Kim), a children's dance group "Aibyn" (artistic director A. Kumarova), music band of Guk family.

On this day the Museum offers EXHIBITIONS: "Flora and Fauna of Kazakhstan" (from the museum's fund collections); "Restored heritage" (restored exhibits from the museum's fund collections); "Faces of Central Asia" (artist Gyuzel Zakirova). With the purpose of organizing family leisure, development of creative potential of children and youth of Almaty city, the exhibition "My family, my city of Almaty" will take place in the museum from September 29 to October 10 which will introduce to the diverse creativity of leaders and teachers of 19 children's art galleries, art schools and art schools: M. For all comers, master classes on various types of needlework will be organized on this holiday from masters of Kazakhstan and students of the Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after O. Tansykbaev: decoupage from M. Kurazh; jewelry from I. Vinogradova; on wood from Y. Kovalenko; bases of the Japanese language, temari, calligraphy from the Japanese House of Ichikawa, Almaty; on "fusing" (glass technique) from the designer I. October 6 - 7, 2018 The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Center of Decorative and Applied Art «Bakhyt» conducts the traditional Central Asian exhibition-fair of crafts "Golden Apple".

Autumn time is a period of creative inspiration for artists, sculptors, masters of arts and crafts.

The traditional Central Asian exhibition-fair of crafts "Golden Apple"Almaty is a city of apples. Apples are everywhere. They became the main theme of the exhibition. The idea of the apple theme is not the story of a lone fruit, it is infinitely multifaceted. Still-life and landscapes, portraits and genre scenes. Yes, in different forms - painting, graphics, photography and decorative art, such as tapestry and hot batik. One theme, but told by each artist, a master in his own way. This is a boundless fantasy on the topic of familiar things.

Masters of arts and crafts transferred this symbol to their products: paintings, jewelry, panels, tapestries, felt, leather, batik products.
