On 19 September 2026 at 2.00 pm, the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host the opening of the «Autumn Vernissage» art exhibition by the «ASIA ART» creative group, dedicated to the golden autumn and Almaty Day.
The exhibition draws on a simple metaphor: Almaty as a living canvas, where autumn's crimson and gold blend into the city's architecture and cultural heritage. Autumn here has a particular character – the scent of “aport” domesticated cultivar apples in the air, the cool mountain breeze, and leaves rustling softly along the city's old tree-lined avenues.
Autumn is a season of new beginnings – a time for renewal and reflection. This was true for our ancestors, and the tradition carries on in the lives of artists today. With autumn's arrival comes a new creative chapter: the urge to open a fresh sketchbook, stretch a blank canvas, experiment with new materials and techniques, share one's work with a wider audience, discover what colleagues have been creating, and return to a beloved practice with renewed inspiration.
The exhibition aims to highlight the continuity between generations of artists who have captured the city’s changing appearance, its architecture, atmosphere and cultural life, as well as to create a welcoming artistic space for interaction, contemplation and inspiration for the residents and visitors of Almaty.
The exhibition will feature works by contemporary Kazakhstani artists specialising in fine art, decorative and applied arts, as well as sculpture. The participating artists are from Taraz, Almaty, Astana, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz and Konaev: Abtu Anet, Elena Panina, Diana Shaykheslamova, Aikerim Tabetova, Olga Dzhanabaeva, Olga Chukreeva, Anna Munasap, Arina Zyryanova, Diana Kaplun, Guzal Iskhakova, Raykhan Adilzhanova, Dinara Zakaradze, Alpamys Kenbaev, Karina Samartseva, Bakhi Altynsara, Alfiya Safi, Kanat Murataev, Ekaterina Prokhorova, Svetlana Savchuk, Zharas Mamyrbaev, Irina Usova, Alima Amangeldy, Irina Urazbekova, Olga Markicheva, Elena Yatsishina, Aigul Rakhmanova, Galina Shepeleva, Gauhar Zhunusova, Lilia Mingazova, Galina Pashchenko, Marina Molchanova, Maira Uzbaeva, Milana Kenbaeva, Yuri Burmistrov, Marina Belousova, Saule Zhumasheva, Sarvar Nakisbekova, Viktoria Pavlenko, Elena Karkavina, Karina Bitner, Tatiana Shestakova, Alina Tatarova, Berik Murzagaliyev, Aigul Hakimzhanova, Vasilina Dmitrieva, Aiman Bekzhanova, Aliaskar Musaev, Zhanat Tabildieva, Anastasia Borisova, Botagoz Keshubaeva, Zhanel Slanova, Elena Fursa, Aigerim Asemkhan, Asem Zairova, Zhanat Koshen, Elvira Danibekova and Murat Baizhanov.
The exhibition, will have over 70 art works, showcases various facets of Almaty in autumn: the interplay between nature and urban identity and the image of the apple as an archetype of abundance, warmth and the city’s historical identity; as well as still lives, floral arrangements and art objects. Genre paintings and urban graphics capture the unhurried rhythm of Almaty’s streets and modern neighborhoods, bathed in the golden light of the September sun. Works on free themes occupy a special place, in which artists address contemporary issues, reinterpret the creative heritage and explore the diversity of the modern world. These trends reflect current developments in the visual arts of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition will run until 4 October 2026. Samal-1/44.
