27.08.2025 The exhibition of artistic photography and works of art by Chinese artists entitled «Magnificent China: The Art and Beauty of Xinjiang»

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty,  the All-China Association of Cultural and Art Workers, and the Association of Cultural and Art Workers of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will jointly open an exhibition of artistic photography and works of art by Chinese artists entitled «Magnificent China: The Art and Beauty of Xinjiang» which dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China are currently engaged in the development of cultural initiatives within the framework of the «One belt one road» initiative. The primary objective of this initiative is to promote historical heritage, facilitate interaction between peoples, and develop cultural ties dating back to the Great Silk Road. Additionally, it aims to facilitate the international exchange of experience between countries. One such significant event is the exhibition «Magnificent China: Art and Beauty of Xinjian». The exhibition, which will present paintings to the viewer, is a journey through China – Xinjiang, a dialogue between cultures and civilizations.

Xinjiang, China’s border province is connected to Central Asian countries by picturesque mountains and rivers, and it seems that Kazakhstan and China have enjoyed a long history of cultural exchange and broad opportunities for cooperation. The years 2025–2026 have been declared the «Year of High-Quality Development of Cooperation between China and Central Asia». The year 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.   This exhibition is a testament to the artistic talent and cultural richness of Xinjiang. It is a testament to the unity and resilience of the people of all nationalities in Xinjiang, who are forging a new life characterized by economic and social development, enhanced living conditions, cultural flourishing, and a pristine environment. It also illuminates the promising horizons of China and Central Asian countries, as they contemplate further openness to each other, collaborative construction of the «Asia-Europe Golden Corridor» and the shared pursuit of modernization through high-quality development.

The exhibition represents a significant opportunity to initiate a new chapter in cultural exchange and historical ties between China and Central Asia, showcasing the development, integration, and friendship between peoples through artistic expression. The exhibition will feature photographs depicting the beauty of nature, the socio-economic development of Xinjiang, its resources and technologies, as well as works of art by talented Chinese artists conveying the beauty of Xinjiang’s picturesque places and cultural traditions.

The exhibition features a selection of around 40 works of Chinese painting, with a focus on the rich cultural heritage of the Xinjiang region. Among the works are picturesque locations like forests, pastures, the Pamir mountain ranges, villages, rivers, and valleys of Urumqi, scenes of human labor and everyday life.
