Within the walls of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an exhibition of collectible dolls by the creative association “Art Dolls Collection_KZ” titled “From East to West” has opened.
The exhibition of collectible dolls is being held at the National Central Museum for the second consecutive year, which demonstrates the growing public interest in doll art and the recognition of this artistic field within the cultural space of Kazakhstan. The theme of the exhibition, “From East to West,” reveals a connecting line that unites the East and the West, their cultures, aesthetics, and artistic images.
The theme “From East to West” is presented as an imaginative and philosophical interpretation of the interweaving traditions, meanings, and artistic symbols of different civilizations. The exhibition is dedicated to the spring holiday of renewal — Nauryz, symbolizing the beginning of a new life cycle, harmony, and renewal. This unifying energy is reflected in the display of collectible dolls, where images of the East and the West meet within a single artistic space, creating a subtle and expressive combination of cultures, aesthetics, and symbolism.
At the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by Araily Bakytkyzy Balaeva, Deputy Director of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In her speech, she emphasized that masters of doll art pay special attention in their creative work to preserving national traditions and culture, conveying through their original images the depth of historical memory.
The exhibition features more than 130 original works, created by мастers using a variety of techniques and a rich palette of materials.
The exhibition will run until March 18, 2026.
