26.02.2025 The exhibition “Spring Rhapsody”

On February 26, 2025, at 15:00, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host the opening of the exhibition of art works “Spring Rhapsody” of the Almaty Center for Active Longevity, dedicated to International Women’s Day (March 8).The exhibition will feature 96 works of art by 31 participants aged 61 to 84, created in a variety of techniques: watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil. The thematic and genre diversity of the works includes: flowers as a symbol of spring and female beauty, landscapes, still lifes, abstractions, decorative painting, interior compositions and graphics. The symbolism of the exhibition lies in its theme: spring is associated with renewal and inspiration, and the image of a woman with beauty, tenderness and vitality. These ideas are reflected in each presented work, combining art and nature in a harmonious unity.

The goal of the exhibition is to demonstrate to society that you can learn to draw and create works of art at any age. For the participants of the Center, fine art has become not only a way of self-expression, but also a powerful tool for art therapy and health improvement.

Participants of the Active Longevity Center of different ages have been engaged in creativity from 3 months to 2.5 years under the guidance of a graphic artist, watercolorist, member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Georgia, Vice-President of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, awarded medals

 «Honored kazakh artist», «Artist of the Great Ale»,   included in the top 40 significant personalities of Eurasia according to the OCA magazine (Great Britain), a painting teacher  Marlan Kenesovich Nysanbayev, thanks to whom this exhibition was organized. The idea of ​​holding it belongs to him, as he not only inspires the participants to be creative, but also actively supports their development, creating space for self-expression and new achievements.

The Almaty Active Longevity Center, operating since 2022 (director and initiator of its creation, holder of the “Kurmet” order – Saule Stanislavovna Beketayeva), provides a wide range of services for the elderly aimed at maintaining health, creating a favorable environment and improving the quality of life of older people. Qualified specialists and instructors of the Center provide more than 40 types of social services free of charge, including consultations with a gerontologist, psychological training on the self-healing system, therapeutic exercise classes, yoga, kinesiology, Nordic walking, and also conduct master classes in arts and crafts and painting.  The Center actively organizes large-scale events dedicated to Nauryz with a concert program and shows of national clothing, exhibitions of national creativity, longevity festivals, flash mobs, harvest festivals, etc.

In 2023, the Center launched the project Club of age models “Almaty Azheleri” (headed by Zina Sailauovna Ishanova, excellent education student of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The oldest model is 76 years old. These amazing women represented Kazakhstan at the international fashion week in Italy, became winners of international ethnic festivals in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and the city festival of national clothing (2024). Their bright performances caused a wide resonance in the media. A group of age models also became the heroes of Olga Sapozhnikova’s documentary film “The Path to Yourself. Long Life”.

 The museum invites Almaty residents to visit the exhibition “Spring Rhapsody” and discover inspiring stories of elderly people for whom creativity has become a source of joy, self-realization and new achievements.
