On March 4, 2026, at 16:00, the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Unity of art “Art Dolls Collection_KZ”, opens an exhibition of the doll collection “From East to West”.
Despite the fact that the genre of doll art is objectively a young art for our country, the unity of art “Art Dolls Collection_KZ” today unites a large number of professionals.
The exhibition of collectible dolls, which has been held at the National Central Museum for two years, testifies to the growing public interest in doll art and demonstrates the recognition of this movement in the artistic space of Kazakhstan.
The geography and number of participants are also impressive: the exhibition features 140 works and 21 craftsmen from Almaty, Astana, Ridder, Zharkent and Pavlodar.The theme of the exhibition “From East to West” is the disclosure of both figurative and philosophical interpretations and the interweaving of traditions, meanings and artists of different civilizations. The exhibition takes place at a special time – on the days of the national holiday of Spring and renewal – the celebration of Nauryz, symbolizing the beginning of a new cycle, harmony and rebirth. This unifying energy is reflected in the exhibition of collectible dolls, where the figures of East and West meet in a single artistic space, creating a soft and expressive combination of cultures, aesthetics and symbols.
The purpose of the exhibition is to show Almaty residents and guests of the city how many talented and experienced craftsmen live in our city and country. All the works are created in only one copy, and the creation time takes from several weeks to months. A lot of hard work and painstaking work of the masters allowed us to create truly unique compositions both in personal collections and in galleries around the world.
The exhibition of Unity of Art collectible dolls “Art Dolls Collection_KZ” will feature personal works by doll makers from a rich palette of materials.
