On June 10, 2026, the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the solo exhibition “MOMENTS” by Elena Karkavina, an artist and educator from Pavlodar, a member of the International Union of Animal Artists, and an active participant in group exhibitions in Kazakhstan and Russia.
Elena Karkavina’s work represents a harmonious fusion of decorative painting and contemporary ethno-fantasy art. Through color, form, and ornamental details, the artist conveys a sense of comfort, light, warmth, inner peace, and a spiritual connection to her native land.
A special place in the artist’s oeuvre is occupied by the cultural code of the Kazakh people, reflected in imagery, ornamental motifs, symbolism, and the philosophy of nomadic culture. Her works become a distinctive dialogue between the past and the present, preserving national identity while expressing it through a contemporary artistic language.
The opening ceremony featured a welcoming address by Araily Balaeva, Deputy Director of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of supporting contemporary Kazakhstani artists, highlighted the significance of the exhibition “Moments” in preserving and promoting national cultural values, and expressed her gratitude to Elena Karkavina for her contribution to the development of Kazakhstani art. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ms. Balaeva presented the artist with a Letter of Appreciation on behalf of the museum and wished her continued creative success and new achievements.
