03.04.2026 Solo exhibition by artist Madina Mukhtarova «THE TRAIL THROUGH TIME»

On 3 April 2026 at 4.00 pm, the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host the opening of the solo exhibition of artist Madina Mukhtarova, «JOURNEY THROUGH TIME» – a striking artistic event that opens up to the viewer a world of the artist’s philosophy, the energy of colour, and profound reflections on the modern age.

Madina Mukhtarova’s art is not merely painting, but a unique artistic space filled with inner music, the dynamics of time, and the emotional power of the image. Her works create a cohesive, energetic world in which colour, texture, and rhythm merge into an expressive and multi-layered visual symphony, organically combining the energy of the modern age with a profound philosophy of time.

As Beisebek Akanayev – Honored Worker of Culture, notes:

«Madina Basyrovna Mukhtarova is one of those artists who do not merely create paintings, but shape a cohesive, energetic world, imbued with inner meaning and musical harmony».

Despite her relatively recent emergence on the country’s contemporary art scene, Madina Mukhtarova has made a confident and striking name for herself. From the very start of her creative journey, she has actively participated in art projects of various scales – from national to international – demonstrating a freedom of artistic thought and an ability to exist organically within the dynamic landscape of contemporary art.

Rejecting the strict confines of academic tradition and conventional figurative art, the artist chooses the language of abstract painting. Her works give rise to complex, multi-layered compositions where forms, fields of color, rhythms, and textures interact. These pictorial structures resemble unique, harmonious puzzles that come together to form a coherent picture of the world – one that is emotional, powerful, and, at the same time, deeply personal. Her works reflect a charismatic, dynamic nature that feels itself to be an integral part of the rapid flow of time.

The still-life genre occupies a special place in her work. However, in the artist’s interpretation, it takes on a new dimension. It is no longer the traditional «Still life» genre, but rather a unique space of positive energy and artistic meditation. Madina Mukhtarova’s still lifes can be perceived as a form of art therapy – a space of light, harmony, and inner balance. Paradoxically, it is precisely through these non-narrative compositions that the artist’s philosophy of modernity is revealed. Her works reflect the complexity of today’s world, its social and moral conflicts, as well as the vast possibilities of free choice that lie before us.

Madina Mukhtarova’s work can also be viewed within a broader historical context. The artist has a keen sense of the pulse of time – past, present, and future. Her works respond to global processes and events, taking place both in the world and in her home country. She is both a cosmopolitan and a subtle lyricist: her intimate works resonate with deep emotion, whilst her large-scale canvases reveal an epic mindset and a desire to comprehend the human condition within the fabric of history.

As art historian and exhibition curator Maria Zhumagulova notes:

«Madina’s ability to ‘take root in the present day’ is evident in her approach to abstract painting. These are complex, multifaceted combinations of form, color, texture, and rhythm, coming together to form remarkably harmonious structures. The artist creates her own matrix of beauty boldly, freely, and without regard for existing conventions».

The National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites everyone to discover the work of Madina Mukhtarova and immerse themselves in a world of emotions, thoughts, and sensations, where every visitor can find their own connection, pause for a moment, and hear the quiet music of time.
