The museum is located in the apartment where the prominent scientist, composer, conductor, academician Akhmet Zhubanov lived and worked in 1967-1968, and in 1968-1993 his daughter, the outstanding composer of our time Gaziza Zhubanova and her husband, the famous director, People's Artist of the USSR, "Halyk Kaharmany" Azerbaijan Mambetov, lived and worked with their children and grandchildren until 1999.
The exposition consists of a music salon and 2 exhibition halls - these are the working rooms of the father and daughter, in which the atmosphere in which the composers lived and worked is maximally preserved. A unique exhibit of the music salon, where creative meetings are held, is the grand piano of the leading figure of Kazakh musical culture Akhmet Kuanovich Zhubanov. The showcases feature photographs, musical and handwritten materials, personal belongings, souvenirs, instruments, posters, scores, books reflecting the life and work of the great figures of musical culture of the XX century Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov, who left a huge musical, literary and scientific legacy.
In 2011, due to the perpetuation of the memory and significance of the personality of Azerbaijan Mambetov for the country's art, the exposition of the memorial museum was supplemented with materials about Azerbaijan Madievich from the funds of the Central Museum.
The main goal is to show the importance of the figure of A.M. Mambetov in the culture of Kazakhstan, the continuity and fusion of his creative path with the line of Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov and to acquaint visitors with his directorial work.
The works of Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov and Azerbaijan Mambetov, which enriched and raised the professional art of Kazakhstan to the world level, are known far beyond its borders, undoubtedly, are the cultural heritage and heritage of our country.
