The National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold a cultural event "Dombra babalar amanaty" on June 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., dedicated to the National Day of Dombra.
The main purpose of the event is to popularize dombra, the sacred heritage of the Kazakh people, which is an integral part of their spiritual culture and national identity. The event is aimed at preserving and promoting the historical, cultural and spiritual value of dombra, increasing interest in the national art, as well as introducing the younger generation to the traditions of kuev performance and the continuity of musical heritage.
Dombra is rightfully considered one of the main symbols of Kazakh culture, reflecting the centuries-old history, worldview and spiritual world of the people. For centuries, the sounds of its strings have conveyed the memory of important events, heroic deeds, joys and experiences of the people, preserving the bond of generations. The event will feature a concert program with the participation of artists from the Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic named after Zhambyl. Famous musicians will perform outstanding works of traditional martial art and the best examples of national musical culture.
The National Day of Dombra is a special holiday designed to strengthen respect for national values, preserve and popularize the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, as well as foster a love of traditional art among the younger generation.
