On the eve of International Women's Day, on 4-5 March, 2016 the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Center of arts and crafts "Bakhyt" holds another traditional Central Asian fair-exhibition of crafts "TIME OF TULIPS"!
Applied art is an integral part of people’s culture and carry a spiritual and aesthetic value, accumulated and transmitted by generations.
Respect for heritage, to traditional cultural values, support of artisans raised to the rank of state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The revival of handicraft traditions was a natural process, caused by the desire to preserve the national culture of the peoples of Central Asia. Today ancient production centers were revealed, greatly expanding the range of products, improving their quality. Artisans seek to preserve local characteristics, restore forgotten forms, designs and technologies.
The main purpose of an exhibition-fair is the support of artisans and the development of traditional arts as well as the preservation of cultural diversity in the Central Asian region, the development of international cultural relations. Such events allow to get acquainted with the rich culture and traditions of the eastern nations, aimed at the preservation and promotion of crafts, and have the aesthetic, moral and patriotic value in the education of young people.
Museum for many years is a meeting place for dialogue and exchange of experience of more than 100 folk artists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Russia.
Ongoing activities are part of the promotion and dissemination of national handicraft programs, attracting visitors to the study of crafts and support of young craftsmen. Every year, the event joined by new artisans, talented craftsmen, expanding the number of partners increases the number of visitors interested in the museum and artisan products.
