Cultural and educational project "Night at the Museum"
Design technology which is used in the cultural and educational activities of the museum increasingly becomes highly significant. The museum today creates and offers the public a new cultural, scientific and educational project, among which is an important cultural and educational project "Night at the Museum" through project work.
Since 1978 the museum professionals around the world on May 18 celebrate their professional holiday "International Museum Day", which was approved in May 1977 at the XI of the General Conference of the International Council of Museums in Moscow. Germany museums first opened their doors at night (1997). In 2002 similar event was held for the first time in Russia, Krasnoyarsk in honor of 15th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center. In 2005, the Frenchman had the idea to hold annually international museum event "Night at the Museum" and in the same year, the idea was approved by the Council of Europe. The event is held under the auspices of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). In 2006, participants of the event «Night at the Museum» have become more than 2 thousand museums of 38 countries. In 2006, Kazakhstan to this international event "Night at the Museum" has joined. One of the first organizers of the event "Night at the Museum" in Kazakhstan became the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan (project head Nursan Alimbay).
The main objective of the project is to attract public attention to the museum as one of the main cultural and educational facilities of our country and an active social and cultural institution; strengthening of the museum image through the organization of extraordinary events and programs devoted to the historical and cultural heritage.
Objectives of the project: 1. Creation of new exhibitions, popularizing cultural and historical heritage of our country. 2. Increasing of museum attendance through the introduction of innovative forms of work with visitors and the development of educational, cultural and recreational programs. 3. Attraction of different social groups. 4. Creation of a playground and the development of the training program for children (interactive lessons and master classes). 5. Involvement of young people to culture and arts. 6. Sociological surveys and advertising campaigns.
The project "Night at the Museum" is a complex form of cultural and educational activities of the museum, as it combines elements of excursions, subject night, concerts, exhibitions and other forms of work with visitors. On the day of the event in a museum - master classes, show fashion shows, art fair with the participation of artists, artisans, film screenings, concerts, special events for children and youth are organized.
"Night at the Museum" is a prominent event in the city and a worthy cultural tradition of the museum, which serves as the impetus for the development of creative young people and of great importance for the formation of the cultural environment of the city. For visitors and residents of Almaty "Night at the Museum" - this is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the museumworld, museum collections and exhibitions, take part in the cultural program and relax.
In 2015, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates its 10th anniversary of the project "Night at the Museum". The museum is looking for creative people, artists, performers, musical groups, sponsors and others.
