The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will organize the exhibition “Duties of the National Assembly: Newly restored values” dedicated to the Republic Day on October 24, 2024 at 14:00. As part of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev at the third meeting of the National Kurultai, the importance of studying and preserving the centuries-old history, national cultural values and strengthening the unity of our people was emphasized. The Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan has done a lot of work within the framework of an archaeological expedition to study archival historical materials and photographic documents reflecting the history of our country. These are documents on the history and culture of Kazakhstan, which were collected and studied by the scientific staff of the Central Museum in the archives of the Omsk, Orenburg, Astrakhan (Russia). A press conference for journalists will be held within the framework of the exhibition, which will highlight the issues of returning historical artifacts and archival documents from foreign archives and museums of great historical value to the country.
The scientific trip began in Orenburg, where researchers collected 57 photocopies of national clothes and jewelry describing the history of Kazakh ethnography, characteristic of the XIX – XX centuries, found in Orenburg, as well as 620 pages of documents containing valuable information on the history of the Archival Accounting Commission. Considering that the foundation of the Central Museum was laid for the first time in the city of Orenburg, the documents related to the construction of the museum will not leave many indifferent, for example, Correspondence about allowing various persons to carry out archaeological excavations and about collecting antiques for the museum.
The next archaeological trip on the topic "History and culture of the Kazakhs of the XVIII-XIX centuries" was carried out in Omsk, according to the results of which 45 cases were collected from the State Historical Archive Fund of the Omsk region, as well as electronic copies of 11 photographs (previously unpublished) from the fund of the Omsk Museum of Local Lore.
As a result of the search, selection and study of the funds of the State Archive of the Astrakhan Region and the Astrakhan State Joint Historical and Architectural Museum, employees of the Central Museum brought an electronic version of 923-page material from the State Archive of the Astrakhan Region, which was transferred from the stock accounting department of the Astrakhan State Joint Historical and Architectural Museum to the Kazakh people in the XIX –XX centuries from ethnographic materials (309 exhibits with scientific attribution).
One of the valuable documents found as a result of the search and collection of archival materials is the case of awarding the rank of khan to Sultan Zhangir, son of Bokey Khan, issued by decree of Emperor Alexander I of the Russian Empire on November 20, 1823.
The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites visitors and scientists of our republic to familiarize themselves with little-known archival materials from the collections of Russian archives and museums.
