14.09.2023 Photo exhibition, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage: a visual reflection of heritage and modernity.

The UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office and the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan are proud to announce the launch of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This significant event will present the richness and diversity of intangible cultural heritage preserved and passed down through generations.

The exhibition, covering the period from September 14 to 27, 2023, was created to visually reflect and celebrate the diversity and richness of the intangible cultural heritage. She will present unique photographic works and visual stories of cultural traditions, crafts, rituals, and celebrations that reflect the richness of cultural diversity within the Convention.

The exhibition presents three sections: general information about the Convention and Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH); on World Cultural and Natural Heritage; about the elements presented by the countries of Central Asia in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

On September 14, at 4:00 pm., the official opening of the exhibition will take place with the participation of representatives of the UNESCO Office in Almaty and the Museum management. We invite all lovers of art, history, and culture to join us and get acquainted with the photographs that are exhibited at the exhibition.
